My oh my, I can take life pretty seriously sometimes!

When I catch myself in that space, I remind myself—lighten up, Sharon! No good ever comes from feeling bad or feeding worries and fears.

Years ago, if I felt a twinge or body ache, I would worry and fixate on it. And often, it got worse.

But now, more often, I remind myself: Don't make it a big deal. The energy that created your body can heal it. Just relax and carry on, trusting.

Time and time again, when I let go of worrying and fixating, the pain or condition often disappears.

I got a second-degree burn last week. I pampered and took care of it but didn’t fixate or worry.

The pain disappeared within hours, and healing seems to be happening fast.

This week, I was doing my taxes (yes, last minute!). I’d been busy, and suddenly, it was crunch time—our tax appointment was this morning.

Like you, I’m still evolving and growing, and negative, worrisome thoughts around taxes, finances, and money can still creep in. I can easily slip into a heavy, serious place.

But the deal is, that mindset doesn’t solve anything.

It only reinforces old patterns, brings me mental pain and suffering, and leads to more negative thinking.

I try to stay conscious when I start to slip into those old patterns, so I can meet them with softness and love before they take hold.


I remind myself of higher truths, like feeling optimistic works better, and  I use my self-hypnosis tools and hypnosis meditations to stay centered and peaceful.

In the old days, that kind of thinking would escalate and get away from me.


Those awful feelings would drain my energy, cloud my clarity, and often lead me to escape into a book, a movie, or overindulge in sugary treats- resulting in me neglecting what I should be doing and feeding guilt and shame. 

That said, I stayed balanced and sane. Thanks to my tools and desire to stay on top of it, and choose better feeling thoughts.

I did indulge in a few treats and watched a funny show here and there, but it all felt in balance.


Often we don't realize how patterns of fear, worry, and concern feed our bad habits, reinforce those patterns of thinking, and can even effect our health.
